Cult Study - Joan Jett
" I feel like a Roadrunner..." Caught in a whirlwind. Not so. Not soon. My latest entry into Cult Music listening is Joan Jett. Accidentally discovered in her teenager photograph while fulfilling a whimsical search on September cusp Virgo - Libra. Born on September 22nd, 1958, the eldest of her siblings Joan was gifted her first guitar at the age of fourteen. Fed up with guitar lessons about folk songs, Joan knew she wished to move on and do something that spoke more about herself, building something which was not the anarchist punk and reclined on the riffs of 'rock n roll'. Smitten by the limelight of Los Angles, Joan started off her career with Fowley's all girl rock band, The Runaways. In spite of their petty disputes that surrounded her it nonetheless produced two significant female rock guitarists, Joan and Lita.
